Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment host ‘Annual dinner fundraiser’ in Liverpool

On 21st May 2015, the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), Liverpool & North Wales region, hosted their annual charity dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Liverpool. Dirk Strontschak, Fund Manager at SL Investment and President of CISI Liverpool & North Wales, opened the event.  160 regional members and guests attended, as well as members from other regional societies representing the Insurance, Law, Accounting and Taxation service sectors.

James Charlton, Fund Manager at BestInvest Tilney's Liverpool office, provided an overview of one of CISI's current regional initiatives; engaging local schools in educational programmes focused on promoting investment learning; helping to attract young local talent to the growing financial industry in the area.

CISI welcomed representatives from Archbishop Beck and Merchant Taylors schools - two of the local academic centres actively involved in the educational programme - hosting three students who had recently excelled by achieving CISI Diplomas, with flying colours.

"The positive engagement of local schools in CISI's educational initiative has been incredibly encouraging, and bodes well for the future of financial services in the region. Congratulations to those students recently achieving their diplomas, and best of luck to those currently studying."

"The evening was a truly fabulous event, made possible by the generous support of Aberdeen Asset Management, BNY Mellon, Fidelity, Legal & General and Natexis - and of course the wit and special humour of the legend Dennis Taylor!"
